Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Maruti Suzuki has introduced the all-new Brezza compact SUV, a vehicle that significantly elevates design finesse and upscale features while preserving the practicality that led to its success in the market.
The revamped Brezza comes with a bolder exterior, luxurious interior finishes, and technology typically found in higher-end models, indicating Maruti’s goal to reposition this popular model as a more desirable choice.
One of the most striking updates is the Brezza’s completely redesigned exterior.
The front end showcases a broader, more eye-catching grille adorned with intricate chrome accents that flow into the new LED projector headlamps.
These lights feature crystal-like LED daytime running lights that create a unique look, instantly setting the new model apart from the old version.
“We aimed to create a vehicle with real road presence,” comments Takuya Hashimoto, Chief Designer at Maruti Suzuki.
“The expectations of the Brezza customer have evolved, and so have we. Today’s buyers want their cars to make a statement—not just serve as a means of transport.”
From the side, more pronounced wheel arches accommodate newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while bold character lines play with light and shadow, adding a dynamic visual appeal.
The floating roof design with contrasting color options further enhances its premium feel, providing personalization options previously unavailable.
At the back, the connected LED taillights stretch across the tailgate, offering a broader visual impression and creating distinctive light designs that keep the Brezza recognizable, even in low light.
A newly designed bumper with a silver skid plate adds a rugged aesthetic without sacrificing the sophisticated overall look.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Cabin Experience That Exceeds Expectations
The transformation inside is even more impressive, featuring materials and amenities that defy traditional views of Maruti Suzuki.
The dashboard adopts a layered design with soft-touch surfaces, contrast stitching, and stylish applications of piano black and brushed aluminum highlights.
Dominating the center console is a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This system drives the new Arkamys-tuned audio setup, boasting six speakers strategically positioned for an exceptional sound experience.
“The cabin ambiance has dramatically improved compared to the previous model,” remarks automotive journalist Vikram Mehta.
“The quality of materials, fit and finish, and attention to detail mark a real upgrade—not just for the Brezza but for the entire segment.”
Premium features include customizable ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery with contrasting stitching, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charging pad with a cooling function—elements seldom seen in this category.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Feature Set That Challenges Premium Competitors
In addition to its striking looks, the Brezza now includes an impressive array of features that would stand out in more premium segments:
-
Electric sunroof with tilt and slide functionality
-
360-degree camera system with various viewing angles
-
Head-up display for key information visible to the driver
-
Automatic climate control featuring rear air vents
-
Push-button start with smart keyless entry
-
Cruise control outfitted with a speed limiter function
-
Cooled glovebox and ample storage spaces
In terms of safety, the Brezza has been significantly upgraded to include six airbags, an electronic stability program, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across most variants.
Higher trims also add features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts—advanced driver assistance technologies that are rare in this category.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Refined Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Brezza continues to utilize Maruti’s trusted 1.5-liter K-series engine, now upgraded with dual variable valve timing and an integrated starter generator for better efficiency.
This mild-hybrid system helps achieve a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.8 km/l for manual variants and 19.4 km/l for auto options—impressive figures when considering the enhanced features and equipment.
The engine generates 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, delivered through either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic that includes paddle shifters.
The latter is an upgrade from the previous 4-speed unit, ensuring a smoother driving experience on highways and improved responsiveness during overtaking.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Market Positioning
With a price range starting from ₹7.99 lakh to ₹13.96 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Brezza is positioned as a premium offering in the compact SUV arena.
Although this reflects an increase compared to the previous model, Maruti Suzuki believes the significant upgrades in design and features justify the new pricing.
“The compact SUV segment has significantly matured,” states industry analyst Priya Sharma.
“Early adopters of the original Brezza are now looking to upgrade, in search of a more sophisticated vehicle without opting for a larger SUV. Maruti has tailored this update to accurately address that growing demand.”
The initial market response seems to support this strategy, with bookings topping 45,000 units in just the first two weeks post-launch.
Production capacity is being ramped up at Maruti’s manufacturing facility to meet this demand, with current waiting periods between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the variant and color choice.
